It’s also important to ensure that nutrients can reach the soil beneath your grass. Our aeration services are an extremely vital element to maintaining a healthy lawn. The process of aeration allows air and water to penetrate built-up grass or lawn thatch.

The main reason for aerating is to alleviate soil compaction. Compacted soils have too many solid particles in a certain volume or space, which prevents proper circulation of air, water and nutrients within the soil. 

Aeration is especially important to reduce the excess lawn thatch or heavy organic debris buried under the grass surface. This thatch can also starve the grass roots from the essential elements for growth.

Our aeration services won’t disrupt your lawn, or your enjoyment of it, but it is definitely something we highly recommend. Our certified professionals will explain the process and give you any necessary instructions before and after we aerate your lawn.

Two Types Of Aeration

AERO VATOR AERATION

We use an aero vator with two uniquely designed aeration attachments to help bring new life to your lawn and aid in maintaining that professionally cultivated look. Using this method results in less debris as it doesn’t create the dirt residue. It digs deep into the soil, 2-3 inches down, and vibrates underground moving the soil.


Our equipment will break up the hardest dirt that you can imagine and it really does an exceptional job and it’s perfect for decorative areas of your turf.

CORE AERATION

This type of aeration allows our equipment to mechanically remove plugs or “cores” of soil and thatch from a lawn. The benefits of core aeration are that it reduces soil compaction, creating a channel through which oxygen, water, and nutrients can penetrate the soil. It also digs about 2-3 inches down.


This technique does leave dirt residue which only lasts a few about a week and regrows into your turf.


Overseeding Services
Overseeding is also very important and a step that the Garber Turf Care professionals will recommend if you notice that your grass is deteriorating.

First, we’ll analyze the problems that cause the original turf to deteriorate. This could be issues like fungus, insects, or just a “tired” lawn.

Once we identify the problem, we’ll establish a plan to restore the lawn that will help improve the density of turf, establish improved grass varieties, and enhance your lawn’s color.

The overseeding process is one of our specialties. Because we care about your turf, we ensure that our professionals provide an in-person consultation at your convenience to diagnose the issues. From there, here is what you can expect:
  • Choose Your Aeration Type (Aerovation vs. Core)
  • Choose Your Seed Preference (Tall Fescue, Bluegrass, Rye, Etc.)
  • We’ll come out with the highest quality aerating equipment then aerate & overseed.
  • At that time, we’ll also apply starter fertilizer.
